The fourth Humber Bridge Sportive and Fun Day
This year we are excited to host a fun day for all the family to enjoy.
Savage Skills, the UK’s leading freestyle mountain bike stunt team, will be performing throughout the day. Their daring moves are not to be missed!
Our friends from cycle4life will be setting up a cycle time trial course for under 18’s to take part in. This will be a time course with prizes on offer. And, if you still have the energy, we have a bouncy castle, inflatable slide and goal and zorbing balls.
KCFM, Hull’s local station, will be broadcasting the sounds of the sportive directly from the site on the morning of the ride. They’ll also be interviewing a few of our cyclists before they set off on their routes.
Humberside Fire and Rescue will be displaying two fire engines and will be happy to answer any ‘burning’ questions. The Real Aeroplane Company will be flying over so make sure you look up to see these beautiful aircrafts and we’ll have some beautiful birds of prey keeping their beady eyes on everything going on.
For those in need of refreshment, there will be plenty to eat and drink for both riders and spectators. We’re delighted to welcome The Rustic Rover Company serving pizzas from their Land Rover Defender, Rendezvous FiftyFour coffee as well as many others including ice cream and a hogroast kindly donated to us by one of our Principal Partners Cranswick plc.
We’re especially excited to be serving our very own Humber Bridge Sportive brew ‘The Wobbly Cyclist’ made by Atom Brewery. This one off ale will be flowing for one day only – form an orderly queue!
The Farmers’ market stalls will be offering cupcakes, children’s clothes, soups, sweets and much, much more!
In it to Win it
If that’s not enough, you’ll have a chance to win a £500 bike from Minster Cycles in our raffle so make sure you get your ticket on the day of the event. It’s just £2.50 to enter!
And, if you’re a fan of Hull City FC, Luke Campbell MBE or fancy tackling a bit of off road terrain in a four wheel drive or a trip on P&O Ferries whilst supporting a worthwhile charity you’ll not want to miss out on our online eBay auction. We have some amazing experiences up for grabs. Our eBay seller name is ‘humberbridgesportive’. Everything we raise from the auction will go directly to The Ellie Penrose Fund.
It’s gearing up to be great day!
Where to Stay
Should you need accommodation to attend the event, there are convenient hotels nearby the site. Premier Inn and Hallmark Hotel are the closest and we’re delighted that the Hallmark Hotel is offering a preferential rate of £69.00 bed and full English breakfast for anyone coming down to the Sportive. This rate is per room, per night based on two adults sharing and is subject to availability. Just quote ‘Humber Bridge Sportive’ when booking and the team will make sure you’re well rested for the big day!
